EFR Instructor course
Learning to teach CPR and first aid on the EFR Instructor course can be very useful for you outside diving as well as being a pre-requisite for entering a PADI Instructor Exam following your IDC.
The EFRI course is a 1-2 day program that teaches you how to conduct EFR Primary and Secondary care courses for students as well as how to market yourself to be able to sell these courses.
For those of you who are divers moving on to professional training, it also introduces you to the PADI method of teaching which you will apply on the IDC but first and foremost, it qualifies you to offer potentially life-saving assistance training to people.
You should read your EFR Instructor manual before the course and complete the knowledge reviews inside.
The knowledge development of the course consists of a number of presentations from your EFR Instructor Trainer on marketing EFR first aid courses, how to arrange a course, the philosophy of Emergency First Response and how to prepare a teaching presentation.
The Emergency First Response Instructor course at EFR is done with multimedia assistance using PowerPoint presentations and videos, and your instructor will also let you know what you should have to conduct your own courses such as mannequins and first aid kits.
The final part of the program is a final exam to ensure that you have the knowledge needed to conduct EFR CPR and First Aid training.
Skills practice on the EFRI course take the form of teaching presentations by the candidates teaching individual components from the EFR course to your fellow candidates and EFR Instructor Trainer.
While these presentations are not graded, your EFR Instructor trainer will provide positive feedback on where you did well and ways that you could improve your teaching style.
